During Thai massage the therapist will apply pressure with his/her thumbs, palms, hands, elbows, knees and feet to manipulate and stretch your body. Thai massage focuses on energy lines or “Sen lines” in Thai. Pressure points and trigger points are applied to release the blocked energy and increase new energy flow along the lines. SA WAN THAI HERBAL POULTICE MASSAGE
A traditional Thai massage treatment which combines Swedish massage strokes and Thai stretching with warm herbal compresses to help relax, detoxify, increase blood flow and stimulate the lymphatic system. The Poultice compresses are filled with Thai herbs and spices including lemongrass, turmeric, prai, kaffir lime, camphor, and tamarind. This blend of herbs is the traditional recipe of the Wat Po temple in Bangkok. TRADITIONAL THAI LANNA TOK SEN
Tok Sen means “take off energy lines” in Thai. In other words it is a technique to clear blocked energy. An ancient form of therapy using a special wooden instrument to tap away the negative energy and ease muscle tension. It uses mechanical and sound vibration, working deeply through the fascia and muscles.
This unique healing modality is found only in the Chiang Mai area of Northern Thailand (Lanna). Tok Sen is thought to date back over 5000 years, and was developed in Lanna while acupuncture developed in China. It is an energetic healing modality and is still practiced in the country areas, where farmers receive Tok Sen from family members after working in the fields all day.
